In compliance with the directives outlined in the Government of Assam’s official communication bearing Letter No. 225722/21 dated 03.12.2022 and E-289832/9 dated 17.07.2023, applications are hereby solicited from eligible Indian citizens who are permanent residents of Assam. This invitation pertains to the vacant positions available in the newly established Tea Garden Model Schools within the Sonitpur District. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications in the Standard Form of Application as published in the Assam Gazette under Part-IX. The eligibility criteria and application details are as follows:
1. Junior Assistant (Grade-III)
- Number of Positions: 13 (Thirteen)
- Scale of Pay: Pay Band-2 Rs. 14,000 – 70,000, Grade Pay – Rs. 5,600
- Educational Qualification:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from any stream (Arts/Science/Commerce) from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 6 (Six) months Diploma in Computer Application is mandatory.
2. Multi Tasking Staff (Grade-IV)
- Number of Positions: 13 (Thirteen)
- Scale of Pay: Pay Band-1 Rs. 12,000 – 52,000, Grade Pay- Rs. 3,900
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class VIII from any recognized institute. Applicant must be registered in the Employment Exchange.
Age Limit
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old and not more than 40 years old as of 01.01.2024. Age relaxation will be provided as per government norms:
- 5 years for ST/SC
- 3 years for OBC/MOBC
- 2 years for Ex-Servicemen
- 10 years for PwBD
How to Apply: Completed applications, along with the required documents, should be submitted either by post or by hand to the Office of the District Commissioner, Sonitpur. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed with the post applied for.
Last Date of Application: Applications must reach the designated office by 05:00 PM on 25th April, 2024.

Selection Criteria for Grade-III:
- Part – I – Written Test (150 marks):
- General English- 50 Marks
- General Knowledge – 50 Marks (Comprising History, Geography, and Culture of Assam)
- Arithmetic – 50 Marks.
- The qualifying marks shall be 50% for un-reserved category and 40% for reserved category.
- Part-II – Computer test (50 marks):
- Four times the number of vacancies of each category will be called for the test based on the marks obtained in Part-I.
- Candidates must secure at least 20 marks in the practical test.
- Preference will be given to experienced and local residents.
Selection Criteria for Grade-IV:
- Written Test for 50 Marks (30 marks for Assamese language, 20 Marks General Knowledge)
- Preference will be given to experienced and local residents.
Issue of Call Letter/Admit Card: Upon scrutiny of all applications, call letters/admit cards will be uploaded on the district website sonitpur.assam.gov.in. Candidates are advised to regularly check the website for updates.
Date, Time, and Venue: Details regarding the examination schedule will be intimated through the call letter/Admit Card.
Special Note: No TA/DA will be provided to candidates. Reservation of Posts will be applicable as per Rule. Canvassing directly or indirectly shall disqualify the candidature.
